Julie Easily Cared for her Amputee Husband

I took the Ergotrans to the transfer team at the hospital I worked at in SoCA. Harold had just had a double amputation the day before, the team decided to use the Ergotrans to get him out of bed. The team liked using it for his situation and left him sitting in a chair with the Ergotrans still in place.

When Harold got tired from sitting, and the transfer team was busy on another floor, his 70 year old wife, Julie used the Ergotrans to get him back into bed.

I allowed Julie to take it home as Harold was discharged from the hospital. After he passed, Julie came to return the Ergotrans to me.

She thanked me for loaning it to her, and said, "The Ergotrans made the difference between caring for Harold at home and having to put him in the nursing home. It was a life saver!"

I believe the Ergotrans needs to be used in every skilled nursing facility in this country. As a therapist who sees many caregivers as my patient, I can see that if the Ergotrans were to be used: the number of injuries to caregivers could easily be reduced.

Board meeting with healthcare professionals

Caring for Accident Injured Son

Margaret H. of Terra Bella, CA took the Ergotrans to the Porterville Adult Day Care board meeting. She said "Each of the board members used the Ergotrans to transfer me. They were all very impressed with just how easy the transfers were executed." Ergotrans for Travel

"Traditional gait belts ride up," says Linda Charlton, a central England resident whose husband Frank has MS. "Having the thigh strap stops it from riding up and it means I don't have to grab Frank's waistband." Instead, there are plenty of handholds in that area. Before Ergotrans, Frank spent the first days of vacations recovering from dislocated shoulders from being lifted improperly, but now he and Linda travel all over the world and use regular public transportation in every city they visit.
